Venus in the third decan of Scorpio follows the Golden Dawn attribution; Book T titles the card Illusionary Success. Waite's published meanings, checked against the Pictorial Key, give fairy favours, images of reflection, things seen in the glass of contemplation, and the note that nothing permanent or substantial is suggested. UTT reads untested options rather than falsehood, which is a narrowing of the traditional dismissal and is recorded as such. Waite's reversal gives desire, will, determination and project, which corresponds closely to the released mode used here.
