Historical sources and editorial notes

Lineage: golden-dawn-rws · attribution confidence: traditional

Mercury in the first decan of Sagittarius follows the Golden Dawn attribution; Book T titles the card Swiftness. Waite's published meanings, checked against the Pictorial Key, give activity in undertakings, swiftness as of an express messenger, great haste and great hope, together with speed towards an end which promises assured felicity. UTT keeps the transit and declines the assured end, on forecastion grounds. Waite's reversal gives arrows of jealousy and domestic disputes, which this record does not carry.
