Scorpio, the letter Nun and path twenty-four follow the Golden Dawn attribution. Waite's list for this card includes end, mortality, destruction and corruption. UTT declines the mortality reading entirely as a matter of scope, and narrows the rest to an ending already complete in order to remove the forecastive framing. Both moves are deliberate modern synthesis, not corrections of the baseline.
